Led and helped build a new global video studio from the ground up, through longform YouTube content, and ran the U.S.-based shows team from NYC. Supervised all development and production on all green-lit pilots from pitch to publish. In partnership with their UK office, reshaped the Daily Mail video brand through ad-friendly show formats and new channels, retraining their YouTube algorithm, outperforming KPIs including RPM-revenue within the first 6-12 months.

Marc was a former college athlete and he had this coach-approach to management. Marc saw what I was capable (of) and pushed me to fullest potential based on my own expectations of myself. Some serious Jedi mind craft mixed with confidence building.

Responsibilities:

  • Built out brand new YouTube channels for optimal growth and algorithm gaming; work directly with Google to port over videos and metrics

  • People and project management, budget planning, vendor negotiations, research and creative development, hiring, and implementing new systems for both U.S. and UK shows team falls under my responsibility, while also spearheading production POs, processes, and execution from start to finish for all U.S.-led shows from NYC office.

  • Balanced management approach needed to foster an efficient but collaborative environment.

  • Working with global leadership on critical decision-making, collaborating with other internal teams and stakeholders while managing direct reports day-to-day (producers, graphics, freelancers, etc.).

Results:

  • Rebranded Daily Mail’s main YouTube channel to Daily Mail World; added +1 million subscribers in 18 months.

  • Rebranded Daily Mail Entertainment; added +20K subscribers in <6 months.

  • Newly created YouTube verticals include: Daily Mail True Crime (0-150K subscriber growth in <6 months), Daily Mail Business (0-15K subscriber growth in <6 months), Daily Mail Sport (0-90K subscriber growth in <6 months)

  • Implemented management workflows, e.g., Monday.com for first 12 months, then transitioned to Airtable for entire video team

  • Implemented new production processes, and introduced tools like Cheqroom for equipment management
